POSTMODERNISM STYLE INFOMATION
ASPECTS OF THE STYLE:
1.Embraces pop culture.
2. Not seen as a style but more of a way of thinking.
3. often played upon parody, irony and anti-aesthetic qualities.
4. Compared to International style, Postmodernism was seen as impure, chaotic and irregular.
5. Contradictory approaches were often used.
6. There is no set style so many works had a unique look.
ARTISTS OF POSTMODERNISM:
Milton Glaser - rejects international style. Imagery and posters that include drawi
ng. Best known for his I love New York logo. He has designed over 300 posters, including the famously known poster for Bob Dylan.
Wolfgang Weingart - still uses grids and texts such as International Style. But also uses kinetic decoration. He was interested in pushing the qualities of typography without ruining its meaning.
April Greiman - one of the firt designers to develop a "digital aesthetic". She sees the computer as a design tool.
Katherine McCoy - "typography as discourse" she wanted type and image to co-exists. Rejected traditional distinction between reading and seeing. Was interested in the "power" of design.

DADA POSTER
This is the first draft of the final poster. I believe it is typical Dada style through the use of colour and text. The particular colour was used a lot in traditional Dada posters. Also the use of text on angles and having capitals and lowercase make it edgy and has that "crazy" vibe that Dada portrayed. The typography in the background is all out of order, making it impossible to string a sentence out of it, Another Dada characteristic. Although, I believe it could be a little more crazy and feature more fint styles.

INTERNATIONAL STYLE INFORMATION
ASPECTS OF THE STYLE:
1. It was the start of corporate design.

3. A new form of Typography. Assymetry and bold lines.
4. Often used san serif fonts.
5. Obvious use of negative space.
6. Black and white photography and grid structures to create designs.
ARTISTS OF INTERNATIONAL DESIGN:
Joseph Muller Brockmann - Used a messy style, created dissorder with typography. Keeping to grid systems, but putting text off centre. 
Hofmann - co-designer of famous typography style, Helvetica in 1957.
Paul Rand - Corporate identity graphic designer, known for many famous corporate logos still seen today.
Emil Ruder - Swiss Typographer.

2. Described as "anti-art".
3. Wanted to destroy aesthetics.
4. Touched on surrealism.
5. Techniques developed were: Collage, Photomontage, Assemblage and Ready mades.

1. Marcel Duchamp - Ready made objects, "Fountain" was a urinal that was written on and called art. Although he was not a designer, it is seen in his work the elements in which feature in the Dada style layouts and posters.
. 2. Max Ernst - Sculpture. Dans les rues d'Athenes, (1960)
3. Man Ray - known for his photography. More known as a modernist who created elements of Dada and surrealism. Observatory Time — The Lovers (1936).
4. John Heartfield - anti war. No pasarán 1936. He loved to undermine the Nazi propaganda posters.
5.Johannes Baader - known for the use of typography, to
the point of not being able to read it. Hommage a Gutenburg - 1920.
